Why We Like It

This is an easy and creative way to present food and can be used with lots of different species of animals. You can cut the cardboard pieces into any shape, making this enrichment great for on-exhibit birthday parties and holiday celebrations. 

Materials

  • Cardboard

  • Scissors

  • Honey, molasses, or other sticky food

  • Nuts, raisins, insects, and other foods to stick to cardboard

How to Make It

  1. Make sure the cardboard is clean and free of tape, staples, and other potentially hazardous materials

  2. Cut the cardboard into your desired shape

  3. Spread honey, jelly, molasses, or other sticky substance onto the board in the spots where you want to place the food

  4. Stick nuts, cereal, chow, raisins, insects, popcorn or other food onto the sticky spots on the board.

  5. Optional step; freeze the enrichment to help it stay together better
