Why We Like It

Unlike most enrichment items, this PVC insect feeder has nothing to do with how fast your animal extracts food. Animals have to wait for insects to emerge from the tube, which will engage your animal for hours. This enrichment can be made larger or smaller for use with most insectivores. You can also fill it with small live fish for aquatic animals!

Materials
  • PVC pipe (length/width relative to animal size)

  • 2 PVC end caps to fit PVC pipe

  • Drill

  • PVC Glue

How to Make It
  1. Cut the PVC pipe to be your desired length

  2. Drill various holes all over the PVC pipe that are large enough for insects to crawl out of (hint: to make filling the PVC with insects a little easier, you can make one of the holes near the end of the PVC pipe larger)

  3. Cap each end of the PVC pipe. For larger/more destructive animals, use PVC glue to secure the caps.

  4. Clean the enrichment device and fill with insects!
