Why We Like It
This is a really easy and quick enrichment... just stuff some food inside a firehose strip and go! It only takes a few seconds to make, so it's a perfect enrichment to make when you're in a time crunch.
Materials
-
Firehose
-
Heavy duty cutters
How to Make It
-
Cut a length of firehose (about 1' for primates and large carnivores)
-
Remove the outer fabric lining from the firehose (if applicable) so you're left with the inside rubber tubing
-
Clean the strip of firehose
-
Stuff with food. Pro Tip: You can freeze it for more of a challenge! You can also smear peanut butter or jelly on the inside for primates and give them sticks to help them extract all of the food.
