Why We Like It

This is a really easy and quick enrichment... just stuff some food inside a firehose strip and go! It only takes a few seconds to make, so it's a perfect enrichment to make when you're in a time crunch.

  • Firehose

  • Heavy duty cutters

How to Make It
  1. Cut a length of firehose (about 1' for primates and large carnivores)

  2. Remove the outer fabric lining from the firehose (if applicable) so you're left with the inside rubber tubing

  3. Clean the strip of firehose

  4. Stuff with food. Pro Tip: You can freeze it for more of a challenge! You can also smear peanut butter or jelly on the inside for primates and give them sticks to help them extract all of the food.
