Why We Like It

This is such a simple enrichment item that can be modified for use with lots of animals... and it's a great way to recycle your used egg cartons! Animals enjoy destroying the egg carton material, and they'll find food inside.

Materials

  • Egg carton

  • Food

  • Newspaper or butcher paper (if you want)

How to Make It

  1. If you're using newspaper or butcher paper to make it more difficult for your animal to extract the food, wrap each piece (or small bunches) of food in paper

  2. Place each paper ball (or bit of food if you're not using paper) in a cup in the egg carton

  3. Close the carton and give it to your animal!
