Why We Like It

This is a great enrichment to stimulate foraging behavior in animals. Not only does it include food, but the animals can use the hay as bedding when they're finished eating. For larger animals, you can make several of these and hide them around their enclosure like an easter egg hunt for a foraging activity.

Materials
  • Paper Bag

  • Hay

  • Treats (if desired)

  • Scents (if desired)

How to Make It
  1. Fill a paper bag with fresh hay

  2. Sprinkle appropriate food into bag of hay and shake the bag

  3. Poke various holes into the bag

  4. Secure the bag to the top of the animal enclosure, or simply place inside enclosure
