Why We Like It
Pinecones are very easy to obtain and are a great natural enrichment that encourages small animals to use their minds and bodies to extract food. This enrichment takes very little time to prepare and will keep animals busy for a while.
Materials

Pinecone

Nuts, seeds, insects, or other small foods

Optional: honey, peanut butter, etc
How to Make It

Thoroughly clean the pinecone and ensure it is rid of all insects, parasites, mold, or other potentially harmful substances

Fill pinecone scales with small foods. You may coat the pinecone in honey or other sticky food to help the foods stick
